Our Story

Tymus (Timmi) Wojtasik was born 19/09/09. Timmi was a very happy, energetic little boy who had big blue eyes and a gorgeous smile.

When Timmi was 3.5 years old, we noticed bruises. After a visit to the GP, Southampton Hospital then confirmed that sadly Timmi had acute myeloid leukaemia. Timmi’s treatment there was 6 months.

In January 2015, Timmi had a bone marrow transplant in Bristol and we stayed there for over 18 months. Sadly, after this he then relapsed again. We next went to GOSH in London where Timmi started his experimental treatment. We stayed for 6 months in London but the disease was stronger and took our beautiful angel away from us. We spent the last week with him in Naomi House where our lives and hearts broke into a million pieces on August 12th 2017.

Young Lives vs Cancer was with us throughout. We were extremely lucky to have Sarah as our support worker who was like a sister to me. Without the charity, it would have been so much tougher than it already was.
