Our Story
On 12th July 1994 we welcomed our daughter, Elizabeth Fiona Lyle into our family.
The icing on the cake for her devoted 3 older brothers and her parents, Murray & Fiona.
Life with 4 children and on a busy farm was full and fun until Beth became unwell in June 1999.
She was quickly diagnosed with Leukaemia at Yorkhill Sick Children's hospital in Glasgow.
So began 12 weeks of treatment, terror and travel for our family.
Beth lost her fight on 14th September 1999,aged just 5 years old.
During our lives in hospital we were supported by the then named Clic Sargent play specialist Linda. Linda and Beth became firm friends and I have heard from her every year since then on Beth's birthday and anniversary,
I threw myself into fundraising and did an overseas cycle for Clic Sargent. With friends and family we've climbed Munros, held a ball, coffee mornings and bag packs.
All in an effort to ease the pain and help others going through what we did.
2024 would be Beth's 30th birthday and to mark the occasion I have signed up for a cycle in India.
We will never 'Get Over' the loss of our daughter and sister but in fundraising I hope her life will not have been in vain and to live it to the full for her.
Thank you for your support.
